I love a good party. And Dirty Dancing Summer Bingo was a great party. Maybe one of our best. It was a fun theme and we had a great crowd. Here’s a little tour:
Welcome to the party! Do you like my electric orange lipstick? You know you do.
Help your self to a beverage! Again this year we used cupcake liners and paper straws to brighten up mason jars for glasses. We also made a pineapple sangria that was a big hit.
The food was amazing. My mother, sister and I came up with some fun movie themed names for our dishes. I Carried a Watermelon Slices were my favorite! (and another Pinterest inspiration.)
We had Nobody Puts Baby Carrots in a Corner, Cheese like the Wind, Johnny Castle Burgers and Spaghetti Arms Pasta Salad. All of our guests also brought food and we had a fabulous spread. These girls can cook!
We did a raffle with three themed baskets including Lifts at the Lake, Dirty Dancing Movie Night and Spaghetti Arms Pasta Night. The guests could buy tickets and also everyone who won a game of bingo received a ticket. We started this last year when we had Country Fair as our theme and it went over so well we brought it back.
We played bingo for money and prizes. We find our prizes in clearance sections at places like Target, TJ Max and Marshalls. They are wrapped and numbered and the winner picks a number from a jar and wins the corresponding prize. We like to add a bit of mystery.
The summer bingo party is always fun but we really had a great time this year. It will be hard to top next year but we already started throwing around a few themes including Under the Boardwalk and Mad Hatters Tea. Send us your ideas! Thanks for swinging by the party.
Cheers – Rebecca
